The start of our 30th anniversary year has provided everyone at Acorns Children’s Hospice with the perfect opportunity to thank our dedicated supporters and volunteers. Since 1988, we’ve been providing short breaks and end of life care to local life limited and life threatened babies, children and young people and today we have three hospices in Birmingham, Walsall and Worcester. We’re now looking forward to the next thirty years, and making every day count for the children and families who access our care and support.
As part of our celebratory year we are holding a Great Gatsby themed Ball on Friday 11th May at the Rep Theatre in Birmingham and we’re delighted that our long standing supporters, Biddle & Webb Auctioneers will be with us to run the auction with their usual style and flair.
In addition to the auction (lots include a holiday to Zimbabwe and a suit from the clothing line of Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight) guests will be able to take a chance on Pop Luck (a prize every time!), and to buy tickets to win seven bottles of champagne. Our President, Kay Alexandra is set to host the evening and entertainment will include a live 1920’s style band and a magician.
We will be welcoming advance bids and on the night bids for those unable to join us – the Ball is now a sell out!
There are many other ways you can support our work and we’d love to hear from you. For information on our China Trek, family friendly events, volunteering, sponsorship and other fundraising ideas please contact me at amanda.smallman@acorns.org.uk
