As part of my role within the probate team at Biddle and Webb, I prepare inventories and valuations for deceased estates, and also assist with court of protection valuations. We have recently undertaken clearance of the sellable items from a deceased estate in Henley-In-Arden. In the process we have retrieved a vintage Fordson tractor, uncovered at the back of a cluttered garage – we then arranged for this to be towed away (this may have taken a few attempts!). Underneath the cobwebs, we also found an album of Victorian Cartes-de-visite, a large collection of enamel advertising plaques, die casts models and over fifty miners’ lamps – once we have received grant of probate we will then receive instruction to sell them in our monthly Interior sale – all chattels are marketed to an international audience across our website and through social media.
As a team, we have visited the site several times to conduct an initial valuation and further visits where we were surprised to discover motorbikes, cultivators and retro cars amidst acres of overgrown land. We also provide quotes to clear and oversee the disposal of all assets belonging to an estate including chattels together with property and land. This is part of the comprehensive package we offer at Biddle and Webb, and is a service offered across all estates.
We at Biddle and Webb have many years experience and always aim to provide an efficient, quick and open process with sensitivity and compassion. To find out more about our probate services, please speak to a member of the team or visit our website.
