What do wedding dresses, tyre recycling machinery and three barns in a farmer’s field have in common?
Not immediately obvious but they are all items Biddle & Webb’s asset valuation team have been asked to value.
We supply specialist asset valuations and inventories to predominantly landlords and their advisors usually solicitors or accountants, so they have the financial information to make the right decision.
Based in Birmingham, our valuers cover the whole of the UK.
Once instructed we arrange access with the key holder and are usually on site within 48 hours of receiving the instruction.
We then record all the contents of the unit or retail outlet using videos and photographs, all of which we give our clients access to via our bespoke asset valuation software.
We become their eyes and ears on site.
The valuation report is then sent to the client again usually within two days so the site owner and their advisers can decide how to proceed.
This might be an auction sale at the unit, collection of the saleable assets for sale at our saleroom or disposal.
Biddle & Webb have invested extensively in technology with our own online bidding platform run through our website. We have sold over the last couple of years millions of pounds worth of lots online.
It is also our use of technology that allows us to lot, promote and sell lots quickly and cost effectively for our clients.
On instruction an auction can be set up and run at short notice and in a cost effective way.
This allows us to monetise shop stock worth just a few thousand pounds for our client’s benefit.
Of course the same approach and technology based solutions means we are able to lot and sell the contents of a whole warehouse.
So yes we have valued and sold wedding dress accessories but also mud splattered tractors.
We are flexible problem solvers for our clients.
