I think everyone at Biddle & Webb enjoyed May as we relaunched our open valuation mornings on a Thursday, expanded the viewing opportunities and developing some exciting retail auction opportunities.
As old Brummies will know the Biddle & Webb Thursday morning valuation event has been running for 40 plus years and over this time we have met and helped thousands of people looking for advice on antiques, glass, ceramics, toy, silver and of course art. Many decide to consign their items there and then.
Boxes of books are often signed in on the spot and are literally in our saleroom being catalogued within the hour.
These face-to-face events had to be transfer onto the web over the last year or two for obvious reasons and while we are still valuing hundreds of items a month via our website, it was a pleasure in May to see people wandering in on a Thursday with a bag of “goodies”.
The booking system used over the last year or two was a necessary evil but now it’s back to the traditional Thursday morning open door policy – just pop in with your bags and boxes and see if we can help.
So come along any Thursday between 10am and 1pm and Trevor and his team are looking forward to helping you.
For jewellery Jennifer Pardoe our FGA qualified valuer and brilliant jewellery and silver auctioneer is available on a Thursday by appointment – see website to book a slot or speak to Sophia on 0121 455 8042 for more information.
It’s just great to be back doing what we love meeting people and seeing their antiques and collectables.
